For Caregivers

Every day we’ll help you know what is happening, what matters, and how to respond.

Supporting you is part of supporting your loved one.

Free for caregivers during Early Access.

Start with what actually needs you today.

Most days you don’t need more information. You need to know where to put your attention, and whether anything has changed.

Well Plated opens on what matters right now — what’s been recorded so far, what’s coming, and whether any of it changes what you do in the next few hours.

On an ordinary day, that answer is often that nothing needs to change. That’s a real answer, and you’ll get it plainly rather than having concern manufactured to justify the visit.

Help with the question you’re actually asking.

Not an article. Not a module. Help with the specific decision in front of you, in the moment you have to make it.

“She skipped breakfast. Do I bring it up?”

Think it through before you say anything, rather than deciding in the doorway.

“She ate half of dinner. Is this worth pushing on?”

Some moments are worth holding the line. Some aren’t. Talk it through and decide with more than instinct.

“She’s crying before lunch. What do I actually say?”

Language you can use, shaped for the situation you’re in — not general advice you have to translate.

“Is this reassurance, or is it accommodation?”

One of the hardest distinctions in supporting recovery, and one you’re expected to make many times a week.

There’s support here for you, too.

Terrified, furious, exhausted, out of ideas — none of that means you’re doing it wrong. It means you’re carrying something heavy, often without much of a place to put it down.

Support for the harder moments is always reachable, offered rather than imposed. The app won’t tell you how you’re feeling; it will just be there when you want it.

What you’ll see — and what you won’t.

Being useful to you and being fair to your loved one are not in tension, but they do require drawing a clear line.

What You’ll See

Whether planned meals were recorded, how that’s been going over time, and guidance that reflects it. Enough to know how to help today.

What You Won’t

Calories, weight, meal photos, detailed nutrition, exactly how much was eaten, or your provider’s clinical notes. These are omitted intentionally — what you see is chosen for what helps you respond today.

What’s recorded isn’t a complete record of what was or wasn’t eaten, and it isn’t a grade. Your care team sees more context than you do, by design.

Aligned with the treatment your loved one is actually in.

When a provider is connected, they set the treatment model — Integrative or Family-Based Treatment — and the guidance you receive follows it. Supporting a loved one in FBT is a different job from supporting an adult in outpatient care, and the app shouldn’t pretend otherwise.

You’re a distinct member of the recovery team with your own role. Well Plated is here to help you fill it — never to make you a second clinician.

Questions Caregivers Ask

Why are there three separate apps instead of one?
Recovery looks different depending on where you’re standing. A person in recovery, a caregiver, and a provider each need different information, different tools, and different boundaries. Separate apps let each person see what is helpful for their role without exposing information that doesn’t belong there, while still working together when connected.
Do all three apps have to be used together?
No. Each app can be used independently, and they become more useful when connected. Connecting with a provider or caregiver is optional. A provider can also decide whether meals are logged by the client or by a connected caregiver on the client’s behalf.
What does someone actually log?
A meal in whatever way feels manageable that day — with a photo or just a few words. There is no calorie field, food weighing, or requirement to enter measured portions. A brief entry still counts as logging.
What can a caregiver see?
Caregivers receive a limited view designed to help them respond in the moment. This may include whether planned meals were recorded, gentle patterns over time, and situation-specific guidance. They do not see calories, weight, meal photos, detailed nutrition information, exact amounts eaten, or provider notes.
What does the AI do, and what does it not do?
Its role differs by app. In the app for people in recovery, AI helps turn a conversational description into a meal log; it is not a treatment coach. In the caregiver app, it offers guidance tailored to the caregiver’s situation. It does not diagnose, set or change treatment goals, or replace the treatment team’s judgment.
Can caregiver guidance reflect the treatment approach being used?
Yes. A connected provider can select Integrative or Family-Based Treatment as the client’s primary approach, and caregiver guidance is shaped by that choice. This setting affects caregiver guidance, not the meal logger used by the person in recovery.
How is Well Plated different from a food diary?
A food diary is usually something you keep for yourself. Well Plated is designed to support treatment. Meals can be logged with a photo or a few words, providers can see meaningful patterns between appointments, caregivers receive guidance designed for their role, and each app shares only the information appropriate for the person using it. The goal isn’t to collect more data — it’s to make the data clinically useful.
Can I use the caregiver app without my loved one using Well Plated?
Yes. While the caregiver app becomes more helpful when connected, it also provides coaching and guidance focused on the caregiver themselves — the situations they’re facing, the decisions they’re making, and the support they need. Connecting adds visibility into a loved one’s recovery, but it isn’t required to receive caregiver support.
Who can see my information?
Providers connected to your account can see information available through the provider app. A caregiver receives a limited view only when caregiver involvement has been enabled. Well Plated does not sell personal information or use it for advertising.
Can I delete my account and my data?
Yes. You can request deletion of your account at any time, and we process requests within 30 days. Some records may be retained where required by law. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
Is this a replacement for treatment?
No. Well Plated supports the work that happens between appointments. It is not therapy, a diagnostic tool, or a substitute for professional care. Clinical judgment stays with the treatment team.
Will I be shown calorie or nutrition numbers?
No. The app for people in recovery shows no calorie counts or numeric feedback about how much was eaten. Detailed nutrition and weight information is reserved for the provider app.
Does the app support concerns beyond restrictive eating?
Yes. The app helps providers notice clinically meaningful changes in either direction, including eating less or more than planned and changes in movement or activity. It does not assume every concern is caused by restriction.
Are there streaks, points, or rewards for logging?
Recovery isn’t a game to win. Well Plated doesn’t use streaks, badges, points, or daily goals, because missing a meal log shouldn’t become another source of pressure or another way to feel like you’ve failed. Logging is there to support recovery, not measure it.
Was Well Plated built by people who understand eating disorders?
Yes. Well Plated was created by a PhD, LMFT specializing in eating disorders, working alongside experienced software engineers. It was shaped with input from practicing clinicians and built around the realities of evidence-based eating disorder treatment.
Which app do I need?
There is one app for each role: one for the person in recovery, one for clinicians, and one for a parent, partner, or other support person. Each is a separate download.
What devices are supported?
All three apps are available for iPhone and Android through the App Store and Google Play.
When do subscriptions begin?
Everything is free during Early Access. We have not set a billing date, and we will notify members before any paid subscription begins.
Will the prices change?
Planned pricing is shown for reference and may change before subscriptions begin. Early Access members will receive preferred introductory pricing.
Do caregivers pay more when a provider joins?
No. A caregiver’s price does not increase when a provider is connected to the same loved one. Providers use their own provider membership.
